The Italian pianist Maria Pia Vetro has to her credit performances - both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles as well as with orchestra - in Italy, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, England and Poland and in prestigious international festivals (“Rachmaninoff Festival” in the concert hall “Dialog” in Velikij Novgorod, Russia; “Paderewski Piano Academy” in Bydgoszcz, Poland; “Aurora Chamber Music Festival” in Vänersborg, Sweden; “Trinity Festival” in Croydon, England; “Claviernacht” in Cologne, Germany; “Medenus Klavierfestival” in the Schloss Eulenbroich in Rösrath, Germany; “Incontri Musicali” in the “Fondazione William Walton e la Mortella - Ischia”, Italy; “Viotti TEA” in Vercelli, Italy). Since 2022 she plays for the German concert series “Weltklassik am Klavier”. 

 

Maria Pia has received awards in international competitions, including the First Prizes in the competitions “Città di Piove di Sacco” and “Premio Crescendo Città di Firenze”. She also obtained a special recognition for music performance in the context of the 16th edition of the Prize entitled to the Sicilian poet "Ignazio Buttitta”

 

She also dedicates herself to teaching the piano and is the artistic director - together with the pianist Konstantin Zvyagin - of the "Musikalisches Wochenende im Grünen" Festival in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid.

 

After obtaining her first Piano Diploma as a private student at the “Tito Schipa” Conservatory in Lecce and graduating at the “Vincenzo Bellini” Conservatory in Catania with a II level Academic Degree, Maria Pia pursued further her piano studies - in Italy with Daniel Rivera (from 2013 to 2015) and in Germany with Fabio Bidini (from 2016 to 2019), under whose guidance she graduated with the Master of Music in 2019 at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. She has also attended masterclasses by Masters such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Rena Shereshevskaya, Benedetto Lupo, Homero Francesch, Claudio Martinez Mehner, Polina Leschenko, Peter Donohoe.
